Woah man these are actually pretty awesome!!! ( howlingflamesarchive here on my main) I'd say only two things you could improve on all of them is 1) sharper lines. This one is awesome but some of the older ones are a little too hazy without seeming like a graduation. 2) Higher contrast. I think you could make your darks darker and a little more of it. Otherwise really awesome stuff man

Meant to critique on this ages ago, have some time off so I'll do it now, sorry for the delay. :D

Overall really nice piece, love the colour choices, contrast and creative design. Can tell you put thought into scythes shape and look. I'll try to bullet point down my thoughts to keep it snappy.

Improvements:
-First thought is that the background perspective is much better, the horizon feels more natural.
-The design looks alot less muddy this time, albeit being a fairly fluid character, you didnt overdo the darks.
-Follow-on, I like the use of blue shades for the harder/darker parts as it adds nice contrast to the main colours and gives the overall image more variety. The 3 colour choices compliment eachother nicely.
-Lighting is fairly standard, but the edge highlights on the harder surfaces and the blending towards the background colour work nicely considering the subject.

To work on/think about:
-I do feel the background should blur much further back allowing more room for detail and real depth. The foreground formations you have going already look good. The blur starts to look better towards the upper half as it helps focus the subject (I realise this is partly a time/productivity issue).
-Anatomy, the easiest thing to pick at and the hardest to improve, prob a long term goal, but even being ethereal you could benefit from some good proportions here. I would very much try sketching a loose humanoid anatomy as a torso base and work around that to help you keep everything in check.
-Head doesnt seem centered on the body at that angle or follow from the spine (try reversing image to compare), maybe add some more detail to the head, Carnage or Venom from Spiderman may be good reference for this. The shoulders could also be more square and angled or even crumpled around to give a more masculine or fiercer outline.
-Hands, knuckles lack definition, the index should be slightly shorter than the middle, just imagine how they would look here if the hand was flat and use your own hand as reference. A good clawed hand would make this look much more menacing.
-Image looks fairly flat overall, shapeliness and depth could use some work. I feel like its mainly down to playing safe with the colours and all having very similar values. Although this creates a strong outline try being a bit more extreme with the values in your palette, deeper blood reds and lighter pinkish whites maybe. Fluids are fairly reflective and some stronger highlights on the blood parts could help with depth and definition. If you're happy with your overall shape just try experimenting, see how far you can push your light/dark values to add shape/depth and make it pop more.

Lastly just something to think about for the future. If you really want to pull someone into a character based image it needs to be dynamic, it depends on your subject but really think about how you can push a pose or perspective to make your art more interesting to the viewer, maybe the scythe could be at more of an angle, he could be more hunched, the hand could be more clawed, you could change perspective so he's facing at an angle towards the 'camera'. The 'camera' could be more 'below' to make the subject more imposing. Really its a long term creativity goal and down to your own desire, but something you can keep in mind.

Man I always end up writing far too much. Anyway those are just my opinions, so take what you like and throw away the rest. Hopefully it will help you towards improving.

That's a cool design and a great realization.
The character makes me slightly think about a medieval carnage.
And I like that there is less light effect than on your previous paintings.
Very well done!

Ahh, now we have a Reaper~ Ever since I was a little Kit, I've always loved Grim Reapers~ Purrsonally I purrfer the traditional depiction, a Black robed man or woman with bare feet and either no face or a completely bald, pale, lifeless face, and the Scythe made of Wood and Steel~ Theres just something so beautiful and symbolic with a Reaper, and this one, I certainly like~ I really enjoy the Red and Black color schemes, as well as how the Scythe, and even the shoulder plates, which is something Reapers are never shown to wear, are made from a Bone-like material, making this fleshy specter a lot more eerie. The White marrowy center, as well as the Alien/Reptilian bodyshape reminds me of Marvel's Symbiotes, Carnage in particular, which I enjoy~ The name throws me off though, which is certainly a difference from most of your other creatures~ Obviously 'Blood' is part of the name, but the 'Ynar' part appears to be completely original. I like it~

You have a very creative imagination, even for the more wicked characters. You definitely captured the dangerous aura around him; he appears silent but if one is not careful, the creature can haunt you for days. I will say your work is getting better as far as keeping proportions consistent.

Now a few pointers. The scythe design is very good, but the parts where there are red lights coming out of the scythe should have a harsher bright color to them. Kinda like the ones you see in this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRNLqT…
The closes tutorial I can get to helping you a little is this: www.deviantart.com/art/Trans-l…

I think it would also be better if the first two mountains at the front isn't too blurry so the we can see the environment better, just like you did with this work on Mirigoz: www.deviantart.com/art/Mirigoz…

I wish I could give you some proper tips and techniques, but I'm still in working progress with traditional. From a person who does traditional, this is what I can offer.

Other than that, keep up the excellent work. Your art never ceases to amaze me! Cheers~!

It looks good but I think you can do better. I mean has detail but something feels off. Unlike this one Mirigoz by SaifRygo where everything feels in Unison. All the elements mix well together on the Mirigoz pic while this one feels like it doesn't belong with the background. Still Good work. No artwork is a bad artwork. It is progressive art.
